MSRP: $7,149.00
With a 17" front wheel and 14" rear wheel, the smaller version of the TC 85 bridges the gap between the TC 65 and the larger TC 85 perfectly. The modern 85 cc 2-stroke engine is designed and built to deliver best-in-class performance, with the power customizable thanks to two pre-set maps. A tailored suspension set-up can be achieved easily using the adjustable WP components, while all riders will benefit from the light and agile chassis on track. An extensive list of race-tested parts from respected brands such as Formula, Galfer, Neken, Pankl, and Twin Air underlines the premium specification of the TC 85.
Performance
Engine
Continuing to utilize the latest 2-stroke technology, the engine remains well ahead of its 85 cc competition. Overall performance can be customized depending on rider preference or track conditions too, as the TC 85 benefits from two engine maps. A close ratio six-speed gearbox and hydraulic clutch completing the build of this highly competitive machine.
Cylinder
A light and durable aluminum cylinder is designed around an innovative powervalve system that ensures unrivalled performance. The cylinder head is designed for strong bottom end to mid-range power, which reduces the need for riders to feather the clutch in heavy track conditions.
Crankcase
Manufactured using a high-pressure die-cast process, the crankcases feature thinner walls for a low weight while being strong and durable. This design allows for a more compact engine arrangement that brings the internal components closer to the center of gravity to enhance handling.
Clutch
The reliable, lightweight hydraulic system from Miba ensures consistent play, even in the toughest of conditions, and offers a near maintenance-free operation. The clutch itself is housed inside a strong steel clutch basket for consistent action and assured durability.
Chassis
Frame
The frame is constructed from hydro-formed chromium molybdenum steel. This proven material is not only strong, but it offers precise flex and rigidity to maintain the known agility of the TC 85. Inside the frame, the engine is positioned to distribute its weight in the most effective way, which aids stability and leads to easy cornering for all young riders.
WP XACT front forks
State-of-the-art, 43 mm WP XACT AER forks with new settings offer exceptional damping and comfort. Lightweight with 278 mm of travel, the left leg features an air spring that is easily adjusted with a pump to accommodate rider preference, weight, and track conditions.
WP XACT PDS shock
The fully adjustable WP XACT shock offers 289 mm of travel, and is mounted directly to the swingarm using Progressive Damping System (PDS) technology. Working as one with the swingarm, the shock ensures maximum traction and stability.
Subframe
The proven subframe design is a one-piece component made from polyamide glass fiber-reinforced aluminum. This cutting-edge hybrid construction reduces weight with specific rigidity engineered into it for outstanding control and feedback.
Foot Pegs
The all-new foot pegs are larger than the previous generation to enhance grip while the overall design prevents mud from building up for assured control at all times. An improved mounting concept ensures the foot pegs are less susceptible to catching on the side of deep ruts, to help the TC 85 maintain forward momentum.
Components
Graphics
Drawing inspiration from the Swedish heritage of Husqvarna Motorcycles, eye-catching white and yellow graphics are applied with in-mold technology for durability and a high-quality finish.
Bodywork
Ergonomic bodywork, precisely scaled to the proportions of the average 85 cc rider, helps build confidence while offering unrestricted movement. Slim in design, the bodywork allows youngsters to grip the TC 85 with their knees for complete control.
Brakes
Floating calipers from Formula are paired with a Galfer 240 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc to provide confidence-inspiring braking in all conditions. Formula master cylinders and brake hoses ensure maximum performance and durability.
Wheels
Black Excel rims (17 inch in the front and 14 inch in the rear) are laced to CNC-machined hubs using strong spokes to create a lightweight and robust wheelset. The wheels are equipped with Maxxis Maxxcross MX-ST tires that are manufactured with a compound designed for exceptional straight-line stability, traction, and predictability across a wide range of terrain.
Handlebars & grips
The tapered, black anodized Neken handlebars feature a comfortable, modern bend and are made from high-quality aluminum alloy for exceptional vibration dampening and stability. Black, ODI grips are then securely installed. The left grip is locked in place using a small clamp while the throttle grip is vulcanized onto the throttle tube for a secure fitment. To protect the rider in the event of a heavy landing, the handlebar mounts are covered with a bar pad to cushion any impact.
Technology
Airbox
A airbox concept features precisely positioned inlet ducts to ensure maximum airflow and filter protection. The Twin Air filter behind the left side panel remains easily accessible without tools for a fast and simple replacement of the air filter.
Cooling
The TC 85 features state-of-the-art Panki radiators that are scaled down versions of those found on the full-size motocross machines made by Husqvarna Motorcycles. In addition to the coolant flowing through the cylinder, it is also channeled through the crankcases to maintain an optimal running temperature at all times. The cooling system is complete with a new threaded radiator cap for easy inspection of the coolant lovel
Swingarm
An advanced casting process creates a low overall weight for the swingarm. The one-piece design is manufactured using a gravity die-cast process for exceptional strength and optimized flex. Clear chain adjustment markings on the swingarm ensures easy maintenance, while the durable chain guide and slider are designed to prevent dirt build-up.
Exhaust
The exhaust system is manufactured using a proven process for maximum power and build quality. The header pipe has the welded seams on the inside removed, with its geometry calculated to maximize performance throughout the rev-range. The silencer is complete with a stylish, black-anodized finish.
